Prince George City Council has sent the Fiscal Services budget to the Finance and Audit Committee for a more detailed look.
There were several questions about the Terasen Gas deal benefits, which didn't seem clear on the documents provided. "It is important the public has a clear picture of the deal" said Mayor Colin Kinsley as he noted the deal, and the loan attached to it, caused a great deal of concern and debate in the community.
The way the numbers look now, it woud appear the deal delivered $2.1 million dollars more than anticipated, but it isn't clear where all the dollars are in the budget.
Finance Manager Kathleen Soltis says it is safe to say the deal has "exceeded expectations" but only a more detailed report to the Finance and Audit Committee can pin point the actual gains. She says once the Committee has had a chance to look at the detailed report, the information will be brought before Council and the public.
