Prince George, B.C. -  This morning's snowfall, followed by this afternoon's rain has created a slushy mess on area roads...

RCMP are urging motorists to drive with extreme caution and slow down for the conditions that are now present on our streets.

The reminder came from police after a single vehicle rollover earlier today.  But, given the slush out there now and the fact Environment Canada says there is a risk of freezing rain this evening, the caution should continue.

The temperature is supposed to rise overnight to plus 2-degrees by morning, with a high of 3-degrees during the day, and a slush-freezing minus-6 overnight tomorrow.

Driving home up airport hill after work, 1/2 ton truck in the lead, passenger car behind him and me in my truck behind the car. We're all doing about 80 km/h in the clear inside lane which was a very reasonable speed given the road conditions at the time. Traffic coming down the hill had to content with ice in both lanes as the plows hadn't been out.

Anyway, look in my rear view and here comes joe moron in his jacked up 1 ton figuring he can pass everyone while he takes the outside lane doing about 120 km/h. He pulls out, gets caught up in the slush, starts fish tailing, almost goes into the oncoming traffic and has to back right off while everyone else going up the hill has to do their best to avoid him.

Why is it that more often than not when you see stupid stuff like this, it's usually some guy with little man syndrome behind the wheel of a big truck? Idiots.
Next thing those guys will want to put a transmission out of a M1 tank into those jacked up trucks......

Oh wait a sec.....GMC is already doing that.....haha.

Yup, I listen to my Dad talk about the days when they drove around in..........CARS......wow how did they manage to do that? 2 wheel drive no less....haha.

It seems like there are a lot of people that need big trucks to drive these new age roads.

You know what's coming next, whenever Opinion 250 posts something about streets/highways......bring on the posts about......potholes!!!
