Pousette 9th In 1000m Speedskating

Prince George, B.C. -  Sarah Pousette, a member of the Prince George Blizzards, has captured a 9th place finish in the Long Track Speedskating 1000m female event at the 2011 Winter Games...

The 19-year-old finished with a time of 1.30.130, in 9th place out of 29 competitors.  She also qualified in 15th spot for the 100m female event.

Pousette will participate in 6 events at the Halifax Games.  She currently trains in Calgary, where she's attending U of C.

Another Blizzards' club member, Phillip Shrimpton, placed 20th in the Long Track Speedskating 500m Male event with a two-race combined time of 1.24.870.  The 19-year-old is currently competing in the 3000m event. (click here, for results) He, too, is attending U of C and training in Calgary.

Hockey action at the Games this afternoon, features Team BC playing Quebec.  Team BC includes 15-year-old Prince George player Josh Connolly.  The game begins at 12pm pacific time.
