Prince George, B.C. - There may still be snow on the ground, but that`s not stopping the Prince George Family YMCA from looking ahead to summer camp...

The Family Y has launched a month-long fundraising campaign, called Strong Kids, aimed at raising some much-needed financial support to send local underprivileged kids to Camp Kanannaq this summer.

"The Board and staff set a goal of fifty children and we have raised almost $2,500 even before the campaign officially begins," says Peter Vogt, Chairperson. "Each day at Camp Kanannaq offers a memorable experience of traditional lakeside camp activities such as canoeing, campfire songs, archery and more. Since Camp Kanannaq opened in 2008, over 1,000 children have attended with an average 25% of campers requiring financial assistance."
