Prince George, B.C. - It was quite an ordeal through waist-deep snow, but police eventually 'nipped' their suspects...
Prince George RCMP are just releasing details about an incident that resulted in two suspects receiving minor bite wounds from Police Service dog, Azar.
A general duty officer pulled over a vehicle on Highway 16, near the junction with Highway 97, just before 4am on Sunday morning. Police say the vehicle pulled away, just as the officer was approaching and rammed another police vehicle near Ferry Avenue and Ospika Boulevard.
The suspect vehicle continued to evade police until mechanical issues forced the driver and occupant to flee the pick-up truck on University Way, near UNBC.
Constable Craig Douglass says, "The RCMP's Police Dog Service attended the scene and Azar tracked both suspects in waist deep snow through a heavily wooded area near where the vehicle came to rest. Both suspects suffered minor bite wounds."
The driver has been remanded in custody until February 21st and is facing several charges, the passenger was released.
