Coquitlam Driver Faces 10 Charges

Coquitlam ,B.C.- The lawyer for the  37 year old man accused in the double fatal crash  from  early Saturday,  (see previous story) appeared in Port Coquitlam court today to  answer a raft of charges.

37 year old  Cory Sater is facing 10 charges related to the hit and run collision that took the lives of 26-year old Lorraine Cruz and 30-year old Charlene Reaveley early Saturday morning.

Sater,  is accused of crashing his white Jeep Grand Cherokee into the two women and then fleeing the scene.  Sater has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:


Dangerous driving causing death x2
Dangerous driving causing bodily harm
Failure to stop at accident causing bodily harm
Impaired driving causing death x2
Impaired driving causing bodily harm
Cause an accident resulting in death x2
Cause an accident resulting in bodily harm
 
Sater was remanded in custody until his next court appearance March 3.

This piece of crap should remain in custody until they bring him out in a pine box! If he would have stopped and helped, maybe the results would have been better!
I guess the deterrents we have in place are still not effective. Obviously there are still people out there who will drink to excess and then get behind the wheel and hit the road. Since the stiff penalties one faces now for being caught driving impaired are not enough for some, I vote for VERY VERY harsh punishment for those such as this Sater.
How about they take his kidneys?
Those could be donated to a couple of people who need a new one to live.
Sater could then spend the rest of his life on dialysis, as penance for taking the lives of two people who deserved to live, unlike himself.
