Prince George, BC –The Munro/Moffat house on Moffat Street in Prince George,  has been deemed the recipient of the Prince George Heritage Citation Award for 2011.

Originally built in 1915, the log home had a large veranda, diamond shaped mullions on the second floor windows, and a large fireplace. The home looks much the same today, with some interior upgrades such as running water and electricity.

The home was originally occupied by Jon Munro, a bank officer with the Bank of Montreal. Alexander B. Moffat purchased the home in 1923 having remarried following the death of his first wife. He moved in with the two children from his first marriage, Harold and Alice, and his  new wife Florence (Floss). Floss and A.B would have 8 more children.

The citation noting the home’s historical significance to Prince George will be presented to the current owners of the home over the noon hour at a special event Saturday at Exploration Place.

nice house. Value of the house suddenly went up.
I suppose this means the owners must now get permission from city hall before altering the home. I'm not sure this citation is of any real value to anyone.
