Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George is losing Grant Bain.
The Director of Development Services will be leaving Prince George before the end of March to take on a similar position in Kingston, Ontario.
Bain says the move is a step to be closer to family,  the bulk of which lives in Halifax Nova Scotia.
He has been  at the helm of Development Services for the City of Prince George for about 2 years.

No development here. Sinking ship.
Too much development here, all funded by taxpayers money!
Pardon my ignorance. What does a Director of Development Services do in PG? I'm just not familiar with the position, or the person.
Temporary funding saving of probably $150,000... oh wait, they will have filled it temporarily with somebody that is probably unqualified... for what is probably and un-justified position. Just sayin'
Grant probably tired of high taxes & having to snowshoe to work
Best of luck with your new position Grant!
If I remember Chester , this is the guy who wants to fill our city with roundabouts. That is what they do.
He's the guy that has to clean up the mess left by the former planner and probably cant stand the heat.
Cheers
I for one am saddened to hear that Mr Bain is leaving Prince George. I've seen him in council meetings and have always found him diligent in his duties. He is always ready and willing articulate his opinions and clearly has the best interest of the city as his number one priority. As for the comment about the roundabouts... they're really not that scary once you learn to drive. Good luck to Mr Bain in all his future endeavours... our loss is Kingston's gain.
