Prince George, B.C. – CN says the derailment near the Kennedy siding in the Pine Pass happened around 7 this morning, and they are still evaluating the situation. The Kennedy siding is just north of the Mackenzie junction and about 2 kms east of highway 97.
“We do know there were no injuries” says spokesman Patrick Waldron from the Chicago area office of CN.
Waldron says the train was Prince George bound from Chetwynd when 10 of the 67 cars on this train derailed. Of the derailed cars, one was carrying liquid propane (LPG) the other nine were carrying wood products. Waldron says at this point there is no indication the LPG car is leaking.
No one on board the train was injured.
The cause of the derailment is not known at this time, nor does Waldron know how long it will be before that line is re-opened to rail traffic.

but I guess nothing will be done until , heaven forbid, someone is actually killed....I know of no other transporation company that could have as many INCIDENTS as CN has and would still be in business. And it doesn't matter if it is track, track bed, wheels, speed or what ever other excuse they try to use... it just isn't right what is happening...or should I say not happening.
