Prince George, B.C.-  The first round of  balloting  in the Liberal Leadership race shows Christy Clark in the lead with  3209 points.

George Abbott  collected 2091

Kevin Falcon  has 2411 points and Mike deJong trailed with  789.

The next round will see deJong  taken off the ballot, and the second choice indicated by those who voted for him, will be redistributed to the other candidates.

The second ballot is expected to be announced in  just a few minuts from now.

A candidate must have at least 4,251 points, that's 50 per cent plus one,  of the available 8,500 points from all ridings wins the race.

It is thought  some 60 thousand Liberal Party members cast their ballots in today's  race.
