Prince George, B.C.- Environment Canada’s Jim Steele says it has been a wild weather weekend, and he adds, “It’s not done yet”.

There are 17 different weather warnings out this morning from wind chill to, blowing snow, and heavy snow in the mountain passes.

Steele says the severe weather hit pretty much all of BC on the weekend, and some new records for snowfall in one day have been established.

"It’s not over yet" says Steele "Come Tuesday, another front will hit the coast and move inland with more snow.
Locally snow measurements in excess of 30 centimetres have been widely reported."   Steele says he will have the records available for February 27th later in the day.

In Prince George and many other surrounding communities, it’s been a difficult morning for vehicles to get around.
West Jet cancelled one flight because of the weather.

Is it just the weather or do we really have an inordinate number of idiots with driver's licenses in this town? I mean, how difficult is it to turn on your lights and scrape the ice and snow off your vehicle? I saw one woman this morning turning right onto Ospika at 1st; she was stopped with her door wide open looking for traffic because she hadn't bothered to clean off the outside of her window.

Way way way too much. Here`s a picture * *** ** **** * **
I think winter is really getting to us. This is insane. I spent all day yesterday snowblowing and it looks like I`m still not finished.
Idiots is an accurate assessment. I saw a woman today in a white or silver car, couldn't tell what color because it was covered in snow, including headlights, tail lights, etc. People passing at high rates of speed, tailgating, etc. And let's not forget those who think the now single lane streets due to the windrows should still be double lane and decide bully their way through traffic. You are not more important than everyone else! Back off, slow down and be responsible!
Did the City change their policies on snow removal this time? I was pleasantly surprised to see the snow removed from the main avenues this morning. Both 5th and 15th had been done.

As for the idiots out there, I had a guy finger me when I honked at him because he was blowing a stop sign at 10th and Carney. Watched an unloaded logging truck speeding up the Hart Highway this morning, changing lanes like he was a sports car on summer roads.

Please be patient with the driving people. Better to arrive alive (and late) than never arrive at all!
I LOVE IT !!

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT FRONT TO HIT.

IT'S SO NICE TO HAVE A REAL PRINCE GEORGE WINTER AGAIN.

LONG OVERDUE.
@opine So very true!
Opine, does your job have you working outside everyday? This time of the year the highs should be in the single digits and the lows in the low teens.
Has anyone ever noticed that when it gets cold out it also gets "slow" out? When it is clear skies and dry pavement, -25ish people seem to drive extra slow. I mean like 45 to 50 in a 70 zone. What`s up with that?
When you can't get out of your house because of drifts by all doors its TOO much.
There has been a fair amount of snow falling on Calgary, but fortunately the wind blows it over to Saskatchewan or south to Montana! And by the way, gas is $1.069 where I fill up!
I wish I had opine's optimism.

Baby it's cold outside!
I can generally figure out how much snow I will be getting by going to the Prince George weather site and doubling what they are forecasting. If there is a large storm front moving in, I triple the amount of snow they are calling for. The weather station is at the airport in Pineview, I live on the Hart in a snowbelt. Apples and Oranges.
I'm ok with the snow, I've got a decent snowblower and I don't live in the hart although I do feel for those who do and don't have a snowblower. I'm sure most of you have to shovel your roof if you haven't already. I agree that there are more than a few morons out there in vehicles. I have seen both sides though, I have seen logging trucks (empty) driving at high rates of speed up the hart highway, and I have followed the truly paranoid that won't drive over 20km/hr on the bypass. Its pretty simple people, drive for the conditions, if its snowy and icy slow down, I mean slowing down to a walking pace, is probably a tad slow, but then again turning your 4x4 into a curling rock at 100km/hr is about the most witless thing I've seen in my 30 years in PG, yet I see it every single year...But being PG we will be up for a few more snow falls, then we will be up for a few thaws and freezes, then we will be up for some rain. But look on the bright side, May will come, and so will the green grass, until then use your signal lights, slow down on icy roads and help those who are stuck in their driveway and we'll all get through it.
So whats with this global warming. I think we are being brainwashed into believing that there is global warming caused by human activity.

I don't mind the idea of using less resources to live our lives, but don't feed me the line about global warming

Climate change, yes, the climate changes like it does every season. I am sure there are seasons of seasons where the average temperature changes with our with out human activities.

We humans consume way too much, we may be causing environmental harm, but our impact on climate change is bunk.
Do you really think it is at the point where people should consider shovelling there roofs, considering the big melt we had awhile back and how close to the end of the season we are?I've been here 39 years and only shovelled my roof twice.I remember a couple of years ago, this big discussion about this came about. Some said yes, others said no,and in the end you may actually do more damage to your roof, than the damage you are trying to prevent.
If your going to shovel off the roof, you have to do all of it, You can not stop and do only one side of a truss, This will cause the building to get pushed over by eccentric loading on structure.

if your house are trusses, I don't think you are there yet, however, if it rains and the snow is acting like a spounge, absolutely.
