Chef Moreno leans against the yet to be  completed bar in his new restaurant the White Goose Bistro

After a 3 year absence, Chef Moreno is returning to Prince George.

The White Goose, is Moreno’s newest venture, and he hopes to have it open in about a week from now. His plan is to start with being open for dinner, then after a few weeks, when everything is fine tuned,  throw the doors open for lunch.

The White Goose Bistro makes its home on Third Avenue, at Dominion. The corner building has been empty for two years, following the short lived residence of a Bavarian style Deli, which came in the wake of a failed Greek restaurant. The White Goose is still offering ethnic flavours, this time says Moreno, French. “The food will be traditionally French comfort food, with ample portions, and affordable prices, true Bistro style, nice, but casual” says Moreno.

The preview menu indicates there will be some familiar, and old favourite dishes, “There are a couple of things that will return” says Moreno, “They are my signature dishes, like the beef tenderloin and the lobster ravioli”.

The décor will feature roasted red pepper coloured walls, with warm gold accent paint. There will be a five stool bar, and seating for 50 people. “It will be a busy place with lots of activity” says Moreno, who says his vision of the White Goose is a place where people want to get together to hang out in a classic, yet casual, setting.

Moreno is accepting reservations at 561-1002

Awesome. Good food is always welcome in my books. I for one look forward to checking this out and hope it is as good as it sounds.
