Cougars Host Rebels Tonight
By 250 News
The Prince George Cougars will try to make it two straight against Red Deer as they host the Rebels at CN Centre Tuesday night.
The Cougars defeated the Rebels on February 13, 4-3 in overtime, with Brett Connolly scoring late in the third to tie the game and then won the contest in the fourth period on a power play goal. Ty Rimmer was solid in net with 39 saves and the Cougars will need that kind of goaltending again facing the top team in the Central division. The Rebels are 6-2-2-0 in their last 10 games and have 43 wins on the season and are led by 17-year old Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who has 23 goals and 90 points on the year.
Tonight ends a three game home stand for the Cougars, who dropped the first two games to Spokane on the weekend by scores of 5-4 and 4-2. The Cougars will head on the road for three games in three nights on the weekend, starting in Vancouver Friday, Seattle Saturday and Tri-City Sunday. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 29-33-2-2 for 62 points, tied with Kamloops for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Puck drop is 7:00pm and tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.
