Prince George, B.C.- The signs of spring are all around, pot holes, gravel dust, and puddles galore.

But, there is nothing that heralds the change in the season as loudly as the return of the robins. It is a visual and audible sight that can make most of us heave a sigh of relief. Well, the red breasted birds are here, and in strong numbers.

The robins aren’t the only migratory bird to return.

Thanks to the folks from Cluculz Lake who sent us this photo yesterday of the return of the swans!

Just a reminder, the humming birds will be back within 4 weeks. They have never arrived any later than April 24th, and have returned as early as April 6th.   Time to dig out the feeders.

Poor Robin, Wheres the grass, wheres the worm. Hmmmm its all a lie, the early bird does not get the worm.
I have noticed an increase in the variety of birdsong outside, doubtless some of that is from the robins. The returning birds and warm temperatures plus more daylight really put a 'spring' in my step.
Woo Hoo!
metalman.
I think we need to put some feed out for them...... oh better ask the ministry of Environment.
Dont forget to put out some small chunks of apple for the robins.
Cheers
I saw a few worms near my place, driving by slowly and looking at everything. We call them bottom-feeders here.
