Meerholz On The Streets Again
By 250 News
Prince George, B.C. - Francois Meerholz, the young man facing deportation and accused of being a gang member in Prince George, is back on the streets.
At an Immigration Board hearing earlier this week, the Board ruled Meerholz was not in breach of his conditions because he has not been convicted of new charges, only charged.
Meerholz was arrested a ciuple of weeks ago week ago when Police responded to a call about someone breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of a motel off Central Street east.
Meerholz was arrested at the scene and held in custody until a hearing could be held by the Immigration and refugee Board. At that first meeting he asked, and was granted, a one week extension. He consented to remain in custody until his second hearing which was held this week.
He is expected to be deported to his native South Africa, but just when that will happen is not certain.
