CNC Grads Give College an A

Prince George, B.C.- The grads from the College of New Caledonia have given their college a better than passing grade.
 
CNC exceeded the provincial average in 16 out of 19 key indicators when it comes to student satisfaction with skill development and program experience, according to survey results from the B.C. government.
 
The annual B.C. Diploma, Associate Degree and Certificate Outcomes (DASCO) Survey shows the College scored 3.28 out of 4 for “main reason for enrolling met”. The provincial average was 3.22.
 
CNC scored 3.37 our of 4 for “overall satisfaction with studies” when the provincial average was 3.37.
 
Another survey, the “2010 Key Student Outcomes Indicators for B.C. Diploma, Associate Degree and Certificate Programs” also gave CNC better than average scores for the amount of practical experience received ( 4.07 out of 5, the provincial average is 4.01)

A  total of 709 CNC graduates were surveyed for the study from a broad range of programs.
 
The only  areas where the  College scored  at, or below the  provincial average were:
  1. Use of computers,  CNC scored  3.78  out of 5,  the provincial average   was 3.89.  That may be partly  due to the fact that some programs don't require  computer  use .
  2. Organization of programs  scored 3.86 out of 5, when the provincial average was  3.93.
  3. CNC tied the provincial  average  on the rating of quality of instruction.  CNC  scored 4.20 out of 5.
