Quesnel, B.C.- Supporters of Independent MLA Bob Simpson have filed papers  to formally establish a Constituency Association with Elections BC. This step is required before those supporting the Independent MLA can raise money, issue tax receipts, and organize for the next provincial election.

The group supporting Simpson says it  believes Cariboo North has been well served by Simpson and that he is the best person to continue to represent this riding after the next election. They also believe that as an Independent,  Simpson is free to fully represent the interests and needs of this region because he isn’t constrained by partisan politics.

"An Independent does not have divided loyalties and will never have to choose the interests of a political party over those of his constituents,” said Chairperson Keith Sandve. “One hundred percent of an Independent MLA’s time is spent on constituency concerns or broader public policy issues that matter to all British Columbians.”

I guess this is what you have to do when you have been a member of every other political party and either quit or been kicked out.

I think he still has a chance to become a "Green"......if they would take him?????
I thought he and Christy Clark made up, and he's back in the Liberal caucus.
Bill Bennett was the Liberal MLA that made up with Christy Clark.Bob Simpson is an NDP MLA,who had a falling out with Carol James.
my2bits, I think your thinking of Blair Lekstrom.
