We Would Like To Blow Our Own Horn Today

Opinion250 would like to blow its own horn today.

The March statistics are in and they show Opinion250 with a 42% reader increase over the same month in 2010, for a new record high for readers.

Here’s a bit of a break down.  We had 44,004 unique IP addresses for the month. Which, according to AWSTAT  statistics (one of the leaders for taking statistics in the world) resulted in 218,260 individual computers accessing us during the month.

An  IP address for example will include places like, the Hospital, School Board, various large businesses, who may have 100 or more terminals using that same address so that’s the reason why they try to break out the number of actual machines that came to Opinion250 during the month.

The counter by the way returns to “zero” every month at which time we start all over again and the system prevents you from being entered more than once. So if you’re a Unique IP address you only show once for that month no matter how many times you came calling.

Here are some more interesting facts at Opinion 250.  During March we had 1,584,053 pages read. Now we actually had another 2,944,326 pages read which were Robots, Worms, or special HTTP status codes.
What that means is that news sources such as Google for example will reach in and grab our news , 18 times a day, so do a host of other on line systems and papers.

That number has increased steadily over the past two years indicating that they come calling for our news more and more.

Did I miss anything?  Oh Yah... if you like "hits" (which are misleading) we got 11,768,629 in March, and the Robots , worms and Special HTTP codes added another 3,598,711 for a total of Fifteen Million ,three hundred sixty seven thousand, three hundred and forty for the month of March.

From all of us at Opinion 250,  thank you for making us the number one news source in central BC.

CONGRATS!
With the PG Citizen cutting back and/or stopping timely home delivery, it's good to know one can get up to date info at this site.
Keep up the good work.
PG Citizen?? Who are they?

Congrats Opinion250.
Congratulations!
Opinion 250 is a breath of fresh air in comparison to biased, main-stream media we are subjected to everyday.
Great job by all!
I have heard of this "Prince George Citizen" didn't he move to the Okanagan years ago? I know that there used to be a pretty fair newspaper published locally, but don't know what happened to it.
metaln.
Ditto metalman!
There was a time when I read the Citizen everyday...now I wouldn't even waste my time on it!
What the hell happened?
I facebooked this article...You have been my favorite news source since the time I 'goggled' a picture of the Ice Breaker Machine that PG brought in to break up the ice in the big Jam of 07/08 and you were the only one that had it!!!
We are all proud of you 250 and I come in during the day just to catch up on the news thanks once again 250.
Keep up the great work!

What the hell happened? in my view, changing editorial standards killed the Citizen we once knew. '250' is far more relevant today. Keep up the fine work, and looking forward to a faster connection.
metalman.
Good job.The only thing that keeps me subscribing to the Citizen is I would like to win that damn mortgage free, just once, for all the years of loyalty to the paper. It has gone way downhill, some news is several days old,and mostly ads & less news, sports, everything.I am sitting on the fence, trying to decide right now if I am going to renew,as that time has come again.
The Citizen...is that the thing that is wrapped around all the flyers with news thats 3 days old?
Nice job, keep up the good work!
Cheers...
That's because the unemployment rate is down and now that they are on welfare there isn't anything else to do but switch to opinion 250.
What I find interesting is that even with the number quoted by Ben, there are still a hell of a lot of people who have not heard of Opinion 250. I am still referring people to this site.

What this tells me is that there is still lots of room for growth.

I wonder if 250 could advertise on the Citizen to get people to visit their site????
Congratulations Ben and Elaine. You have an excellent web site.
With these stats Ben Opinion 250 is the best news source in Canada.
You, Elaine and your staff work very hard to bring us the most up to date news.
Thank you so much!
Nice! Any idea how those stats compare to the Citizen Ben?
