Thursday, February 23, 2006 04:25 PM
Sleet and snow earlier in the day have left some roads in the area treacherous. Prince George RCMP are asking drivers to be extra careful if they must travel tonight.
Highway 97 South in the Red Rock area is especially slick.
Police responded to reports of a siingle vehicle accident 20 km south of Prince George this afternoon where a vehicle went out of control and slid down an embankment. No one hurt.
Half an hour later, there was another report of a single vehicle accident 20km south of P.G. this one at the railway bridge. The vehicle skidded out of contol and slammed into the barricade. There are minor injuries reported in that accident, but further details are not available.
***Update:****
At 6:45 p.m. police advise the road has been sanded, but there are still some slippery sections. Drivers asked to be cautious if heading south on Highway 97.
