Sudden Death At PG Walmart

Prince George, B.C. - The Coroner's office continues to investigate the sudden death of a 40-year-old Prince George man at the Walmart store earlier today...

Prince George RCMP Media Liaison Officer, Gary Godwin, says paramedics were called to the scene at 11:15am to reports that a man had fallen out of his powered wheelchair and struck his head.

Godwin says it appears his fall from the wheelchair was the result of a medical condition. The victim is described as being an extremely heavy-set individual.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. RCMP arrived at the store just before 12-noon. Godwin says the investigation has been turned over to the regional coroner.

The victim's name is not being released at this time.
