Building Permits Off the Mark from Last Year

Prince George, B.C.- The monthly building permit report for Prince George shows permit values for March are less than half the number and value of the same month last year, but more than twice the values recorded in March of 2009.
 
The major building permits issued last month were as follows:
·        4199 18th Avenue, Washroom and Change Room Upgrade, City of Prince George Kin Center 3, $205,968.
·        2410 Laurier Crescent, Replace Elm Wing-foundation only, Simon Fraser Lodge, $1,000,000.
·        10 Single Family Dwellings, $2,437,793.
 
Development Permits
 
Commercial Development Permit;
·        1746 Victoria Street, to construct 196 square meter addition to the existing building, Bel-Air Motel Ltd.
 
Riparian Development Permit;
·        6565 Industrial Way, to construct storm outfall, L&M Engineering for BCR Properties.
 
 
 
March 2009:
  • 28 permits, valued at $1,157,463

Year to Date 2009:

  • 64 permits  valued at $12,145,125

March 2010:

  • 54 permits valued at $8,543,892

Year to Date 2010:

  • 116 permits valued at $21,928,766

March 2011:

  • 25 permits valued at $3,997,333

Year to Date 2011:

  • 61 permits valued at $12,926,891
