From CB Radioes to cyberspace...CILA seeks interaction with those in the field
The Central Interior Logging Association has jumped on-board the cyberspace bandwagon, launching a blog.
CILA established the blog near the end of last month in a bid to solicit feedback, comments, concerns and queries from those involved in the local forest industry. (click here, to visit the site)
In a welcome on the site, CILA General Manager, Roy Nagel, says, "Our plan is simple: Provide a forum where everyone who has a stake in the logging/service side of B.C.’s forest industry – loggers, truckers, woodlot operators, suppliers, fallers and silviculture people -- can connect with mill staff, government types, environmentalists politicians and each other to discuss current issues."
Trucksafe BC Manager, MaryAnne Arcand, says it's an interesting, unique and modern way of communicating.
And CILA seems to be learning what Opinion250.com has seen for some time now. Arcand says she's spoken with Nagel and within minutes of posting an item he often receives feedback. "It's surprising, often we're getting the wives of truckers and the wives of loggers who are at home and worried for their family members out there in the bush."
"And for us, on the safety end of it," says Arcand, "It gives us a chance to receive the input without putting anybody at risk (for potential retribution from an employer), so we're really looking forward to and anticipating some good stuff coming out that (the blog)."
