Nearly half a million B.C. HealthGuide handbooks have been distributed through local pharmacies, says Health Minister George Abbott.
The new edition provides information on a range of topics including common health concerns, home treatments, chronic disease and illness prevention. It also provides for after hours access to community pharmacists who are available to answer medication-related questions.
In celebrating B.C. Pharmacists Awareness Week, Minister Abbott noted, "Pharmacists do much more than just put medicine in a bottle, they are an important cornerstone in patient care, providing valuable information needed to keep families healthy."
HealthGuides are available at your local pharmacy, but there is also a B.C. HealthGuide service on line which can be accessed by clicking here.
