One Probe of Bush Death Nearing Completion

The police investigation into the fatal shooting of Ian Bush, is nearing completion.

RCMP "E" Division Communications Acting Staff Sargeant, John Ward, says he spoke with investigators last week, and they hope to wrap up their investigation, “soon”.

There is no telling when a decision on charges will be released as once the investigation is complete, the Crown will then examine the information and determine if charges are warranted.

There is also an internal investigation underway, but the status of that investigation is not known.

22 year old Ian Bush was fatally shot in the back of the head in Houston October 29th while in police custody

Does anyone know the oath an RCMP officer makes when he or she joins the Royal Canadian Mounted Police?

I know that when you become a doctor, there is an oath.

I know that when you become a lawyer, there is an oath.

I know that when you become a Knight, there is an oath.

I know that when you become a Member of Parliament, there is an oath.

So, let's hear it. Just what is it, that a new member of the RCMP makes as their oath of allegiance? Percy

Oath of Office:
I solemnly swear that I will faithfully, diligently and impartially execute and perform the duties required of me as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and will well and truly obey and perform all lawful orders and instructions that I receive as such, without fear, favour or affection of or towards any person so help me God.
