Money Talk Focus of Council Session

It’s back to budget talk this evening at P.G. City Council as the operating budget enhancements will be up for discussion.

The list of requests includes:
Increased Staff for the RCMP $220,000.
Nechako Boat Launch $100,000.
Grant to Child Development $150,000.
City Ware Business Analyst $116,000.

In all, there are requests that would add a little more than $1.5 million to the operating budget, although there are opportunities for funding from other sources that could shave nearly $400 thousand from that total.

Also up for final approval is the Capital Plan that outlines capital expenditures through to 2010. That budget for 2006 is in the $30.8 million dollar range with nearly 10% going towards road rehabilitation.
