The Vancouver Giants beat the Prince George Cougars 3-0 in front of 8320 at the Pacific Coliseum in the first game of their WHL Western Conference best-of-seven Quarter-final.

Although the final outcome might indicate otherwise, the game was close.

The Cats pulled goalie Scott Bowles with 1:26 left in the game and Gilbert Brule sent in the final marker at 19:49.

Dustin Slade made 19 saves for the shut-out, while Bowles stopped 20 of 23,earning him the third star of the game behind Franson and Slade.
