Prime Minister Harper, meets with U.S President George Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox in Cancun today and tomorrow. The sessions are expected to focus on trade and security issues. That means the softwood lumber dispute is sure to come up.
Prince George North MLA Pat Bell says "Premier Gordon Campbell has spoken with the Prime Minister, and Mr. Harper has made it clear he is dead serious about resolving the matter."
Will it mean there will be good news coming out of the Meixcan visit? "I wouldn't expect a resolution right away" says Bell, but he adds "When you have a new Prime Minister, its like starting the file fresh".
