G.R. Baker Hospital will continue to serve patients as electrical system upgrades for the third floor completion take place on Wednesday April 5th.
Crews have scheduled the installation of new breakers for the third floor to take place between 1 and 3 am. The upgrade may result in minor power outages at the facility. Staff members have chosen this time to have the least possible impact on patient services.
“The hospital will remain open and care staff will continue to see patients. We’ve successfully carried out these kinds of power upgrades before, and we’re confident that we’ll finish the work very quickly,” said Health Services Administrator Fraser Bell.
The $5.26 million revitalization of GR Baker Memorial Hospital will turn the hospital’s now shelled-in third floor into an updated acute care unit to provide for the needs of Quesnel and area patients.
