With all the precision of a NASCAR pit crew, the team changes  from winter to summer tires.

There are nine drivers, trading off on three vehicles,  driving ’round the clock, travelling the length of 2 continents,  covering 14 countries in 15 days, using 11,000 litres of biodiesel fuel.

How’s that for amazing?

It is the "Panamericana 2006", and  it made its only stop in Canada in Prince George today.

Lead by Matthias Jeschke and Jorg Sand,  they hop to be the very first to drive  with biofuel along the whole of the "panamericana" a stretch of 25 thousand kilometers.

The map below illustrates the route the team is taking:

The team started its journey in Dead Horse Alaska at 11:00 p.m May 4th.

Deputy Premier Shirley Bond greets Matthias Jeschke, team leader as the team arrives at UNBC.

The trek from Alaska wasn’t without  difficulty.

Three vehicles,  four flat tires.  Matthias says  the roads in Alaska are terrible compared to the roads in    the Yukon and B.C.

The fuel is a mix containing recycled  cooking oils, and with the trip just two days underway, it may be a little early to say how the engines will hold up.

ah, you have had the same problem I have had. Depending on where I post, some will come up with an error message.
seems the problem may have been solved.
Just tried to post an excellent link on ethonal and a bit about how we are missing the boat on this new technology when we have everything going for us if we had politicians on the ball. Good to see Shirely Bond at least taking an interest.

Not sure why that didn't work try this. Excellent info on ethanol's future. I think pine kill wood diversification, federal dollars for local diversification, forest companies sitting on a pile of cash, beehive burners going full tilt, gas prices going through the roof, and ask why not ethanol?
