Battle to Get Enforcer Refund

By Elaine Macdonald

As of 2:30 this afternoon,  tickets were still being sold for the "Innaugural Battle of the Hockey Enforcers".  A call to the Ticketmaster (automated line) gave you options  on buying tickets for several B.C. events, and right at the top of the list was the "Innaugural Battle of the Hockey Enforcers".

A quick call to the CN Centre, (where one could actually speak to a human), and I was advised to check with Ticketmaster, but this time, given a number where I could speak to  a real person.

Dialed that one, and asked the  Ticketmaster rep who answered the phone how would I get my money back if I had purchased a ticket to the "Innaugural Battle of the Hockey Enforcers".  I was told,"Well, you would return the ticket to point of purchase, however, we haven't been given any official notice that the event is actually cancelled".  No official notice?  "that's right," said the Ticketmaster person, she went on to say "I guess there  is some paperwork to go through first, and until we have official confirmation the event is cancelled, we cannot issue refunds"

Dial City Hall, try to  get a link up with the City Manager to find out what's going on, who  needs to issue the official orders of cancellation.  CIty Manager is away until the beginning of next week, but here,(said the nice person answering the phone) I will transfer you through to Diane Rogers, she is in charge of CN Centre...oops, sorry, that number is ringing busy, can you try again later?

Later...call Diane Rogers  " Hi, it's Diane, leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can, bye."  I've left a message.....

Stay tuned, your information is on the way

UPDATE:
5:06 P.M.  Diane Rogers returns my call.  According to Diane, CN Centre is working out the "logistics of the event  and will issue a press release as soon as those logisticis have been completed"
That release is expected, (she hopes) by late tomorrow.  In the meantime, Ticketmaster is still selling tickets because they won't call off the sales until they have the written notification  of a cancellation.

9:39 P.M.  Ticketmaster still selling tickets via their internet site... by the way, beer will be sold at this event.
