Clean Air Award? One Man's Opinion
By Ben Meisner
I do hope that we don’t intend to hang the clean air award at City Hall.
The Council made a lot of fuss about receiving the award earlier this week and if you think that trying for the award was a tongue in cheek move you are wrong.
Nope, the Idle Free Zone in the city was the was the reason for the clean air award, plain and simple.
So lets see, how do we fare in the issue of clean air?
Prince George is ranked as “first” for having the worst air in the province. We only receive a bronze medal if you check the air across Canada as we only placed third worst on a national scale.
So there you have it folks, when we receive the "no idle" award it’s suddenly a big deal.
You always hear people at City Hall chirping away that we must think positive about the city.
Well the award this past week tends to stretch not only the truth, but the credibility of the city. Anyone who knows different simply shrugged and laughed at just how silly we look.
Worse yet, the image that we only believe what we want to hear, definitely was shining this week at City Hall and the average citizen is being called upon to make the excuses, or should that be "clear the air"?
I’m Meisner and that is one man’s opinion.

He obviously does not need a lot of room, or he would not drive a Camaro in the first place.
What do you say Mr. Mayor.
If you ask nicely maybe Mercedes has one in Green and a convertible even.
If you get one have the media take a pic and plaster it every where...great publicity!
