Fox Drive Challenge: One Man's Opinion

I don’t know who makes the Sherman Tank in the USA, but it would make a lot of sense for them to come to Prince George for the tanks trials.

This week I had the dubious pleasure of driving on Fox Drive in this city. It’s located on the north hill and my first reaction was that even a Sherman would have trouble on this street.

It is nothing short of a bloody embarrassment and I do hope that while we are talking about what fine streets we have to the out of towner’s, that they never set foot on that piece of road.

How in the world the Council and Mayor can sit at City Hall talking about the great shape our roads are in leaves me cold.

I don’t live on or near Fox Drive but I can tell you, don’t travel it unless you have to.

Send a tank instead or better yet, each morning we in the city should sentence the Mayor and the Council members to drive up and down that street for two laps before their work day begins.

Trust me, it wouldn’t be long before two things happened.

A. those people got an acceptable piece of road for the taxes they pay or

B , the City Hall brass would be trading those sports cars in for a Sherman Tank or a Hummer.

I’m Meisner and that is one man’s opinion.

Just one of the most neglected roads in PG. Amalgamation years ago more city taxes and less services.
Ben,

The military wanted to test their tanks on Fox drive.... problem was it got stuck so badly in a pothole on my road, they have not been able to get it out yet.
When they finally figure out how to extract it, they will continue on their way up to Fox drive for further evaluations.
Yes, Fox Drive is something else to behold, alright!

And, not to forget, there are Croft Road and Cook Crescent, both traversing the Ingala Subdivision - both too narrow, too cracked up and full of lumpy attempts at pothole repairs to be called streets, in the regular meaning of the word!

They connect to Highway 97 and are, believe it or not, are in fact BUS ROUTES.

Without a doubt, BC Transit is unaware of the state of these two "streets' and how unsafe they really are.

It makes me hot and steaming mad to hear the Mayor say casually that Prince George has the very best streets and roads of any northern city in the world.

Sure. I bet the Mayor is relying on the rosy reports from others who don't seem to be concerned with anything else besides making sure there is always enough money in the budget to pay their salaries and benefits, first of all.

I have actually seen the city crews patching the streets. the only problem is that they are leaving many holes unfilled. check out foothills blvd (5th to the bridge), but be careful and watch the right side of the road, the holes will get you.
