Although the weather is cooler, the Prince George Fire Centre responded to several small fires between Friday evening and this morning.

Three of the fires were caused by lightning, all were under one hectare in size.  One was  about 23 miles north of Prince George, another on an island in Bobtail Lake.  An initial attack team has been sent to a lightning caused fire under one hectare in size on the Bobtail Forest Services Road.

Crews are mopping up a 4 hectare fire west of the Groundbirch store in the Chetwynd area, and an initial attack team has been sent to a small fire near the ski trails near the Mackenzie rodeo grounds.

The fire hazard in the Prince George Fire Centre varies with the highest rating (extreme) around Hudson’s Hope.

Ski tails?
Is that the opposite end from the head?
Is Hundsons Hope anywhere near Hudsons Hope.??? If one of these fires ever gets going in a beetle killed area, look out, as nothing will be able to stop it until it burns itself out.
Unless this story was edited after the previous comments, I don't see the tails or Hundson's.
