Carrier Lumber of Prince George has entered into a purchasing agreement to buy out Northwest Specialty Lumber in Valemount.

Valemount  Mayor Jeannette Townsend says the news is good for her community, “It is regrettable that Northwest Specialty Lumber wasn’t able to make a go of it, but forestry is still the primary industry for Valemount, and news of this purchase is good.”  She noted that Carrier Lumber has a reputation for being good employers, and strong community supporters.
