Premier Asks For Support for Smithers

 The Hockeyville challenge will end this evening.  Smithers is  the last B.C. entry to be in the competuitio, and the Premier  is callig for your support.

"I am very proud to congratulate the Smithers Steelheads and the Town ofSmithers for becoming one of the five finalists in CBC's Hockeyville 2006 competition," said Campbell. "Smithers will represent all British Columbian hockey towns, as well as the Pacific region in this prestigious competition.

"I would also like to extend my congratulations to the other B.C communities that were chosen as part of the 50 finalists including Fort St. James, Gold River, Golden, Lac La Hache, McBride, Port Alberni, Powell River, Prince George and Trail.

"I would ask that all British Columbians cast their five allowed votes for Smithers before the polls close on Sunday, June 11 at 1 p.m. Pacific time. Good luck to the Steelheads and Smithers in the final hours of the Hockeyville 2006 competition."
