Police say the first hot day of the year brought out the worst in the public on the weekend.

Over 200 active investigations were underway at the close of the weekend. As police put it, much of it as the result of booze.

Motorcycle accidents also played a big part in the injury department. Two people are in hospital, one after a motorcycle left the road on Peden Hill, the other when a motorcycle clipped the median at Highway 97 and 16 west.

Traffic officers say that in both accidents liquor was not a factor.

Police says that there has been a sharp increase in the number of motorcycle accidents in the city in the past 3 or 4 days and they suggest that motorcycle drivers and the general motoring public be aware of the influx of motorcycle riders during the warmer weather.
