Forest Fire Danger Climbing

The weekend was a beauty for everyone hungry for summer, but  it also  pushed the forest fire rating into the High category,  and  into "Extreme" rating  in the Bear Lake region, and an area 70 km west of Hixon.

There aren't any bans in effect, but the B.C. Forest Service is urging extreme caution if  people are taking part in any activity in the forest, especially when it comes to campfires.

Nearly half of the wildfires in B.C. are caused by human carelessness.
