Early this morning, several vehicles crossing the John Hart Bridge on Highway 97 were hit by rocks, causing broken windows.

The rocks were being thrown from the hilly area on the south side of the highway, a problem RCMP say has been ongoing in that spot for several months now.

Attempts were made to locate the suspects, but were unsuccessful.

When the people who are responsible for this are caught can all of those who have had broken windshields get the ability to throw rocks off the bridge at the culprits ? Still give them a fair trial but if found guilty they get to the relevant punishment instead of a suspended sentence.
Going on for several months ?
You might have to get out of the car to find them. You can't go everywhere in a patrol car, it wasn't meant to be a wheelchair.

Wow that is strange bug how it does repeat your posting an hour or so after the initial post !
I am sorry to read that the RCMP has not been able to arrest the culprit(s) who so recklessly endanger the safety of others, in this case operators of motor vehicles.

A person may well lose control of a vehicle when a rock smashes through a window or a windshield.

I really think that this moronic highly dangerous behaviour is serious enough to warrant the utmost attention by the RCMP and a swift arrest.

Install some cameras and/or hide in the bushes to apprehend these "persons" who need to be locked up until they have learned to mind their own business.

In my opinion the RCMP has not tried hard enough.
And in news from another province, a young man who threw a rock over a bridge into the windshield of a school bus driver was sentenced for killing him. This is not just a bit of fun. When caught, they should be charged with a serious criminal offence, not something minor.
The interesting thing about that last on is the light sentence given in consultation and agreement with the bus driver's surviving family.

I understand they said that he was the type of person who would have wanted it that way.
In case some read too much into that last post of mine, I agree that the individual(s) doing this locally should be brought to justice.

It also appears that since this is a repeat situation that the police do not appear to be doing enough about it, especially since it seems to be happening in the same spot.
And the penalty is ????
