Residents Return Home

The Evacuation order for Tumbler Ridge has been downgraded and residents have been returning to their homes. However, the Tumbler Ridge area is still considered to be on Evacuation Alert, meaning residents should be prepared to leave on short notice.
Fires burning near Tumbler Ridge are currently considered stabilized. While residents are free to return to their homes, individuals with health issues may choose to remain outside the area.
Currently, Highway 52 is closed to public access, while Highway 29 is open with restricted travel. The Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) Emergency Operations Centre remains activated this time.
