Exotic Animal Poll Results Should Be Noted: One Man's Opinion

City council might do well to look at the results of the poll conducted by Opinion 250 recently on the question  "are you in favor of banning circuses which have exotic animals".

The poll results were 914  (65%)  Yes
                               501  (35%)  No

That result is considerably more than the survey on a plan for downtown transportation. As a matter of fact the number of respondents is much higher than the quality of life survey conducted by the city which is used as the basis for what facilities we want in this city, and just a touch shy of the number of people who voted on the ice oval in Fort St. John.

One councilor asked could a person vote twice? The short answer is it is possible, but only if they entered a vote from a different computer with a different "IP address".  But then again, a person could also fill in a quality of life survey more than once.

What the result does indicate is that there is a general feeling that the use of exotic animals in circuses in this city should be closely examined. Regardless of how you feel about the matter, the results speak for themselves.

I’m Meisner and that is one man’s opinion.
