It has been nearly three years since the Khyex River slide damaged the Pacific Northern Gas pipeline between Terrace and Prince Rupert, interrupting gas service to Prince Rupert and Port Edward.
Temporary repairs made at that time will now be replaced with permanent repairs to be completed by Surerus Pipeline Inc of Fort St. John.
Surerus General Manager Steve Thorlakson says “We will work closely with PNG and government regulators to meet all requirements. We also place a high priority on safety for our employees and contractors.”
The work program will improve reliability and capacity for PNG’s customers in the Prince Rupert and Port Edward areas.
