The Province and Federal Governnment are adding more Highway Web Cams. There are now 56 web cams taking photos of road conditions from the Lions Gate Bridge to Fort St. John.
The cameras are placed so travellers can view road conditions and send real-time images. The web camera images range from rural highways, where weather and highway conditions may change quickly, to Lower Mainland highways, where drivers can check traffic volumes before leaving on their commute.
The webcams are a joint initiative of the Ministry of Transportation and Transport Canada. You can check out the web-cams at www.drivebc.ca or the provincial government site at www.th.gov.bc.ca.
