Health Transportation Service Kicking In

This week marks the start of the new short haul "Northern Health Connections" service that will link east-west patients, as well as north and south patients with Prince George.

This is the low cost travel service that will give patients improved access to specialists and special services only available in larger communities.

The routes being launched this week and next, will offer same day service using the 20 passenger wheelchair accessible mini-bus.

The fare is $20 dollars, and all trips must be booked in advance. The number to call is:1-888-647-4997

Here’s the schedule:

Route (with stops along the way)	Day
Valemount to Prince George	Tuesdays
Burns Lake to Prince George (direct)	Tuesdays
Burns Lake to Prince George via Ft. St. James	Wednesdays
Quesnel to Prince George (starting 15th)	Tuesdays
Mackenzie to Prince George (starting 16th)	Wednesday

Washroom on board fer kidney patients? Direct line to local ambulance services on the way? Access to doctors services with little or no delay while travelling? Nurse or just an ol' school bus driver at the wheel? Jest wunderin'.
