Road Repairs are in full swing, but Opinion250 readers are not happy with the progress being made.  The last Opinion250 poll asked:

Are you happy with the progress being made on the repairs to Prince George roads?

The final results show: 26.6% are happy with the progress, while 73.4% are not.

More road repair projects on the list include:

St. Anne, reconstruction from Southridge to St. Dominic

River Road reconstruction form km1 to km 1.7

Dagg Road reconstruction from East Austin to Rundstrom

Birchwood reconstruction from Highway 97 to Birchwood Crescent

Western Road from Highway 16 to Corral Road

and Haldi Road reconstruction from Walter Road to Leslie Road.

With air quality issues now in the headlines, Opinion 250 has posted a new question, asking if environmental concerns should be at the top of the list when neighbourhoods are being planned.

Ya sure the city is doing a lot of road work this year but they are about ten years behind and now to catch up all this road work has to be done at an inflated cost as compared to past years.
Unknown to most of us the City as a planning philosophy of "buy high and sell low." For example they sold the driving range to Wood Wheaton when the market was in the dumper and as fedup has pointed out they are doing all their improvements when the cost are high.

We have to keep our contractors busy and well fed.
Our air quality and our roads are foundational to attracting people to our city. We have been neglectful in maintaining our streets to the level we would like.

And we do understand the challenges of pavement breaking up because of the numerous freeze/thaw winters we have had recently. But, we need to do better.

We need to find a more innovative technology in the area of road surfacing materials that will do a better job of standing up to our winter conditions. Chester
