Local Sport Therapist Heading to Russia

Prince George Sports Therapist Brian Farrance will be heading to Moscow next month to join the Canadian Women’s Under 20 Soccer Team as part of the team’s medical support staff.  The team will be competing at the FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Soccer Championships.

“It’s an honour for me to support our National Women’s Soccer team at the World Championships,” says Farrance.  It’s a fantastic team, and I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet and work with them during their stay in Prince George.”

The team was in P.G. recently to train for the Championships.

He was noticed  by the team’s head choach,Ian Bridge "I knew he would be a great fit to go with the team. We are thrilled that he will be joining us in Russia at the World Championships,” says Bridge.

A Certified Athletic Therapist and a Certified Pedorthist,  Farrance has extensive experience in athletics.

In the last few years he has been the Canadian Team Therapist at the 1999 World Figure Skating Championships in Helsinki, 2000 championships in Nice France, and a therapist for the world teams at the 2001 World Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver.   He has also been to five Canada Games, World Jr. Track and Field and Pan Americans Games in Cuba.  He also traveled with the Canadian Nordic team to Finland, Sweden and Norway

The FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Championships take place August 17 – September 3 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.

Wow, how long has Brian Farrance been working undercover in PG? With a list of world class events Brian has attended, one would think we would know more about our local Professionals.

I do have a question though. Was he attending the Canada Games, the World Jr. Track & Field and Pan Americans Games in Cuba in a professional capacity or just accompanying someone else? Chester
