No Temperature Records in August

Prince George didn’t set any temperature records this August, says Jim Steele of Environment Canada.
The coolest day was August 20th, with an overnight low of 1.4° C, says Steele. It was immediately followed by the warmest day, with a high of 26.8° C.
Total rainfall for August was 20.2 mm, less than half than the normal level of 51.1 mm. Only eight days had rain, compared to the usual 13 days, and most of those happened during the first 10 days of the month.
Overall, August was dry, but cooler than normal, says Steele, unlike June and July, which saw above normal temperatures. The three-month period “Summer” period was much drier than usual, with rainfall only reaching 57% of usual levels. Temperatures for the same period came in at just under a degree above normal.
