Storm Downs Lines and Knocks out Power
Saturday, July 09, 2005 04:01 AM

A nasty hail and thunderstorm is believed to be the reason why power was cut yesterday afternoon to more than a hundred homes from Bednesti through to Smithers.
Hydro crews were called out to repair several lines that had come down during the worst of the storm that pelted the region with hail, rain and high winds.
B.C. Hydro expected to have the last of the repairs completed just before midnight last night.
It is interesting to note, that according to Environment Canada, the region has yet to have a sunny day this month.
As of the 7th of July, Prince George had already received 34.8 mm of rain. That is more than half the average amount of 63.5 mm for the entire month of July!
The good news is, the forcast calls for sunshine and warmer temperatures on Monday and Tuesday.
