Four initial attack crews comprised of 12 people  from the P.G. Fire Centre, are on their way to Ontario to help battle the blaze that is raging in the northwest region of that province.

The four crews are among nearly 100 firefighters  B.C.  is sending to Ontario.  The fires raging through Northwest Ontario have forced the evacuation of a thousand people.
Crews are also being sent from the Northeast, Northwest, Cariboo, Kamloops, Southeast and Coastal regions. They will join 31 B.C. personnel who were deployed on Friday.

The  fire situation  in B.C has  been downgraded  to low to moderate, but there will still be enough  personell left in the province to handle any increase in fire activity in B.C.

The cold wet weather  here has resulted in the fire bans being lifted in the Prince George Fire Centre, meaning back yard burns are now allowed.
