5 arrested---3 in custody!
What happened to the other 2?
Of course the 3 will be in custody until Monday morning when a judge is available to release them, on their own recognizance of course.
They will all promise to appear, and rush back into business-as the week end was hardly profitable for them.
Why are we not given their names?
Protecting these adults identity is required?
We surely have a system to be proud of?
That was a joke-as I believe the system is one monstrous joke.
The cops know practically every drug house in the city, and leave them operating.
Anybody know why?
What?? They need a bobcat to handle all the crime does not pay money? Wow! Just put the ill- gotten gains in an interest bearing account, and when you're out of jail on bail in a day or two, take the dough and scram!
Hardly seems strange to read women are criminals. Equality and all that 'Take back the Night' stuff must be working.
The cost of manpower and work involved in busting some or all or any drug houses in our "gritty little mill town" is beyond comprehension. First the cops have to definately locate and identify a "drug house". Takes a little overtime to spy on ém to make sure. Then after the cops are definately sure, they have to write a memo and show it to a judge. Eventually the judge will say, "Go for it", to the cops. Then they have to gather a whole bunch of cops together, (with note books in hand) and decide when to launch a raid. That done, they have to arrest anyone there and take ém downtown to the hoosegow. Book ém, Danno time". They are booked and put in a cell. Other cops are gathering evidence and writing. Memos, lists, reports, essays, etc. Meanwhile, the judge in a day or two decides to let these druggies out of jail. No bail. This is Canada. After they are let out of jail, the cops can then list, quantify, and catalogue all the drug evidence they have. Lotsa work so far, eh? Then eventually these "suspected"lawbreakers are given a court date about six months down the road. Thus the writing. Hopefully, these guys show up for their trial, if they haven't left town. Canada wide warrants are another joke. But that's another story for another time. Labour intensive to say the least. On the other hand, the cops can just stand by their cruisers on the road just beside the roller dome and hand out tickets for going a few miles per hour over the speed limit. A little memo and presto $180 bucks fer the province AND the city. Now there is a crime that pays! Not arresting drug dealers. Shutting down a drug house only to have it open again down the street. That costs money. Some crimes do pay. Especially if you are a law-abiding citizen who wants to keep your driving record blemish free. Ain't I cynical?
See what happens when they do some real police work....kudos to you officers involved.

Now continue along these same lines , and stop worrying about some poor dude driving a few over the speed limit.

Final a story on the RCMP i am proud to read.

This is good news, because with all the drugs and cash floating around the police station, it will be a while before they get out to shoot another unarmed person again.
:-)
Now, that is what I consider humor, thereasonableman.
I recall years ago when an R C M P member, on Vancouver Island, told me they would set up a roadblock on a Sunday afternoon, seize all liquor and have a bash on Sunday night, consuming all their ill gotten gains.
Always managed to get enough for a party-and people never came to redeem their liquor which left their vehicle in the hands of a police officer.
Now, he had no reason to lie to me, nor did he have any reason to bring up such a subject.
Oh my, the stories I could tell-and the impaired drivers I have seen-and in uniform yet!
After all, when you remove the uniform, you would never know they were cops!!
Like motorcycle gangs, they even prefer to set up their own clubs.
They really are not all that different-only their boots are bigger!
And you better pay attention-they are protected by the law.
Where does that leave the public?
