There has been a tragic twist in a weekend crash.

Quesnel RCMP now say, three young people died in a single vehicle crash Sunday night on Highway 97 near Dunkley Lumber, about 30 km north of Quesnel.

Initially, police attended the scene at 10:19 Sunday night.  A 15 year old male was pronounced dead at the scene.  A 24 year old male, 14 year old male and 14 year old female were all taken to  Prince George Regional Hospital where they were treated and released.  The survivors had been questioned, and police were confident there were only 4 people in the blue Ford Escape SUV when it crossed the highway and flipped in the ditch.

On Monday afternoon, just after 2:00 Prince George RCMP received a report that two teens, a 14 year old male and 13 year old female were missing, and might have been with the others involved in the crash the night before.  Just as police started to investigate, they got a call from Ministry of Highways maintenance people who were cleaning up the crash site.   They had discovered the body of a young male about 40 feet from the crash site on the east side of the highway.  Police returned to the scene and conducted another seach and found the body of a young female on the west side of the highway in thick bushes.

Police now confirm the two are the same teens reported missing.

All three young victims are from Prince George.  Their names will not be released until the families involved have granted permission.

Police are now investigating to see if they had been intentionally misled about the number of people in the vehicle. The cause of the crash has not yet been dtermined and police are working with the  regional Coronor to determin all the circumstances that  lead to the crash and the causes of death.

Police are also working with Victims Services and the community to assist wih grief counselling.

Very disturbing circumstances. Makes me ill. Chester
I say arrest them all and charge em' with third degree murder and obstruction of justice. Throw the book at the the 24 year old and give him at minimum 20 years plus. I have no simpathy for cowards when it comes to this kind of circumstance.
Why wasn't the surrounding area to the accident check, just in case?
As for the 24 year olds justice?
Maybe we should wait and see,
first who was driving,
the relationship of the occupants,
what caused the accident....
then maybe a public lynching might be warranted?

My condolences to all the families. Too many taken way too soon.
Seatbelts save lives, so they say. At least they would help you stay in the vicinity. Young people will never learn. They live forever. Doncha know?
